Based in South Dublin, Belpark caters for junior athletes aged from 6 years up to 17 years.

We will shortly be planning our calendar for 2018. However, it’s time to take a look back first to 2017 – it was a very busy year for the juniors! Membership has increased to almost 40, spanning an age range from 6 to 17, although most members are in the 8-12 age group.

This year we combined forces with Pulse and Fingal, which meant that we were able to offer some form of training session or event almost every weekend. These included duathlon sessions in Corkagh Park, and the Phoenix Park with Gary Crossan, and triathlon sessions in the NAC.

We had very successful duathlon race season, with 130 juniors participating between the 2 events in June and July!

Belpark juniors competed in aquathons in Athy and Bray, the Pulse duathlon in Corkagh Park, Skerries triathlon, Junior Beast of the East, Mullingar Kidathon, Moby Dick, and even went to the UK (well, Bangor, Co Down!).

Belpark had 5 teams compete in the Parent and Child Aquathlon Relay in Athy which was great fun and the format is sure to be repeated again.

We had our first triathlon summer camp in August, a joint event with TI, Belpark and Pulse. This sell out event was a great success, enjoyed by all, as you can see from the photos!

Our weekly swimming sessions will continue through the winter, with Wednesday and Sunday options now available.

Other events for the winter season include Marlay Parkruns every 3 weeks, and the recent Waterford Greenway cycle outing in October.

None of this would have been possible without the many volunteers throughout the year, so a heartfelt thanks to you all.

Juvenile calendar 2017

The provisional calendar of events is below. This will be updated throughout the year.

We will also be selecting various races as focus events for our juniors once the season is in full swing!
